BOTOX ONLY £80 PER AREA
FILLERS FROM £200
What are dermal fillers?
Fillers are placed within or under the skin areas resulting in a natural lift and tightening of the overlying skin. It seems that the skin has lost some of its 'scaffolding' and the use of fillers will support the skin and reduce skin folds and wrinkles. The aim of the procedure is also to add volume and create a more youthful appearance to the skin.
What is Botox?
Botox® is a derivative of chemicals produced by Clostridium botulinum bacteria. When it is injected into a muscle, it stops the chemical messages from the nerve to the muscle, Therefore, Botox stops the muscle from functioning and the muscle become inactive and flattened (paralysed) for a few months. Furthermore, the reductions in movement of muscles diminish the skin creases and allow the skin to recover.
Are fillers and Botox Painful?
These products are injected with a very fine needle by an experienced and trained doctor. Although we apply a topical anaesthetic to numb the area, probably there will be some discomfort at the time of injection.
What do you mean by "pain" and "discomfort"?
'pain' and 'discomfort' are 'subjective feelings', therefore, nobody can tell you reliably how you will be feeling at the time of injection of a particular filler or having a procedure because the reaction to these senses is expressed differently by each individual person.
It is known that perception and interpretation of our feelings and senses such as touch, vision, hearing, smell as well as pain and discomfort are expressed differently by each person and our reaction to these senses is quiet unpredictable. It is also known that a number of well-known factors for example; age, gender, past experience, personal perceptions and health believes, race, cultural and ethnic background and psychological status are playing roles in determining our perception and reaction to these pleasant and distasteful feelings.
What fillers are you using in your clinic?
We only use products which have consistently demonstrated predictability and safety in clinical use. Our doctors prescribe and we obtain them from a very reliable and reputable supplier because there are many different types of dermal fillers and Botox in the market. We use:
- Hyaluronic Acid based Fillers (Hyaluronic Acid is found in our skin) such as: Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm which are non-animal based safe products. Therefore, they do not need skin testing. They are used for filling lines on the forehead, nasolabial groove and enhancing lips but they are non-permanent and their effect lasts up to a year (usually 6-9 months).
- The price is as low as £200, depending on the area of treatment.
- Sculptra is another safe filler which is used in our clinic. The main ingredient of Sculptra is Poly-L-lactic acid which has been in use in surgical procedures for several decades and its safety has been established. Sculptra is commonly used for treating scars, deep folds and wrinkles, volume defects and contour enhancement in places such as chin, cheeks, periorbital and perioral (around eyes and mouth). It has a relatively long-lasting biocompatible and biodegradable life and its effects persist for up to 3 years.
