What are the precautions before the operation of Vaser Liposelection?
It is advisable to stop smoking about 2 weeks before the procedure, because smoking reduces your circulation and probably slows down the healing process following the operation.
It is also advisable avoid taking aspirin and other medications and over the counter remedies which might dilute the blood and facilitate some bleeding and bruising during and in the immediate period after the operation.
There are other measures to be taken including having healthy diet and taking regular exercise. It is beneficial to avoid excess alcoholic drinking to have a more healthy physical and psychological preparation for the operation.
You need to be in good health at the time of the operation. Therefore, during the period after your initial consultations when you are coming in our cosmetic surgery clinic, Doctors Makeover for your Vaser Liposelective procedure if you suffer from any illness including colds, cold sores, temperature or any other illness, please inform us immediately.
It is advisable to wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing on the day of surgery. We supply you with appropriate garments and we will give you more information on the day of your procedure.
It is also advisable to avoid bringing with you expensive jewelleries and other expensive items.
Immediately after Vaser Liposelection you will notice some blood stained liquid coming out of the small cuts in your skin and this process might continue for several hours. Therefore, it is advisable that you should arrange to have somebody drive you home.
As Vaser Liposelection is carried under local anaesthetic you can eat and drink normally but we advise you to take a light breakfast on the day of surgery if the procedure is going to be carried out on your abdominal areas.
